Ladies Enjoying Coffee
Oil on canvas. 30" x 36"

I worked for a year to save for college. I went to Massachusetts College of Art in 1982 and enrolled in the very new SIM Program (studio of Inter-related media). I thought joining a multi-media program would be great for me being both a painter and musician. It was a disaster. Dadaism and John Cage ruled the day and the males in the program controlled the recording studio.

I took another year off to save money to go to Boston's Musem School of Fine Art. I had given up multi-media dreams and decided to focus on being a painter only.

My first year at Museum School was liberating. My work really loosened up.
