Really big, really loose, and really expressionistic describes the trend at the time. I've never been much of a conformist so I made work that was really small, really tight, and I really hid the expression. One of these eggshell pieces got into a group show. It looked hysterical because it was so tiny and the other work was just so huge.

These pieces were inspired by the movie "Andrei Rubelev" directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. It was the story of a 15th century icon painter.
