How Steve Got the Third Eye

I was taking a lot of photographs during this time. I liked the pictures that came out bad and should have been tossed. I starting using these bad photos for very plain storytelling pieces on paper. This was a deviation from my work at the time. I wanted to explore conceptual art and let go of the art history lessons I had gone through.

Defining "Synchronicity" Visually
I forced the coincidence in images by bringing things that don't relate into the same space. The piece below is a great example: the point of the boat, the x-acto knife and the steeple are devices. They have the same shape yet have nothing in common except for the fact that they occupy the same space.
