| I returned to Massachusetts after
living in NYC. The transition was severe. I lived in the country for awhile
and did landscape drawings as well as stark portraits with the camera. I
found myself quieting down; looking at and painting a very bare reality. |

I felt the rain everywhere and
put it in bowls. Bare reality turned inward. I studied Hinduism, magic and
spirituality. I painted mystical rain and candles but I wanted to get more
focused and simple. Eventually, minimalist pieces came into being. |
